Program
Content
The Master “Education, Migration, and Diversity” is a new Mundus Master starting in 2025 and funded by the European Union.
Our Master's program is both research-based and practice-oriented and offers a unique interdisciplinary program combining the following disciplines:
Educational Sciences
Migration Studies
Religious and Cultural Studies
Applied Linguistics
The M.A. is also multilingual, offering teaching and training in English, German, Swedish, Italian, Turkish, French and Arabic.
Degree
The master's program builds upon a combination of established M.A. master’s programs at the following three universities in Germany, Sweden, and Italy:
M.A. Intercultural German Studies and Multilingualism
M.A. Migration, Diversity, and Participation
M.A. Educational Development
M.A. Pedagogical Science (with a focus on Intercultural pedagogy)
Students will receive multiple master's degrees from these universities. A joint European accreditation is in preparation.
Mobility Path
Our program consists of both collective and individual mobility. Students start in the first term in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany, then move as a cohort to Gävle, Sweden. In the third term, students can choose between five countries to conduct their internship and pursue academic specialization related to their interests: Benin, Germany, Italy, Sweden, and Türkiye.
The M.A. focuses on often overlooked de-centered, rural, and urban areas that have been affected by emigration and immigration for a long time. By experiencing migration and education in different regions, students gain excellent and diverse insights into education, migration, and diversity outside of large Metropolitan areas.
